Okay people who may be reading this.
I'm writing this out for all those who may want/need some little tips on how to make your posts, longer, more affective and enjoyable for yourself and others.
So, I'll write down some tips, which may be useful to you. Hopefully, I won't bore you too much. Haha.
I will add more when I think of something else to add. Or, better yet, you can suggest some things to make your posts longer or more detailed.
- First thing that you could add to your posts is to add what your character may be feeling. Is he/she happy? Are they sad? Angry? It's useful to understand how the character feels about the situation at hand. You can also add facial expressions into this, so that the other people in the thread, can relate to how your character might be feeling. Also, does your character like the other one or not? If not, write about things that annoy the character in detail, same about if they like them.
- Sceneary. Another thing that could be good for others to know about. Whats the area that your in like? Is it a wide open field? Or is it a busy part of the town? It is useful for others to know what the area they are in is like, so that they know what they can or can't do. Like, they can't go around starting to train in the middle of town now, can they?
- How does your character react to the other characters movements or what they say. This, is a fairly important peice of information when your Rp'ing. It's good for the other person to know how your character reacts to what theres is doing? How do they know if they like it or not? It's useful to know what the other thinks about them or what they do, so they know a little about your characters personality or if they like what they say/do.
- Descripton. Yosh, descriptive writing is good! Personally, I find Rp'ing with someone more exciting and fun if they are descriptive. It makes the post longer and there is more things that you can reply to. Instead of a simple, 3-5 lined post, a couple of paragraphs is better so theres more to relate to! The short posts are hard to reply to because there is nothing really to respond to.
- Set yourself a post limit! See if you can write a certain amount of lines/Paragraphs. Each time, raise the number by a few so that you can try and beat your limit. Soon enough, you'll probably be writing a great deal more than when you started off with.
- Being lazy is not an excuse! If you can't be bothered to write a fair amount of lines, or you just 'Have trouble thinking of stuff' don't bother writing anything! Wait until you feel you can, or can be bothered to, so that you can write a whole deal more, instead of writing a pitiful few words.
